All 14 subjectsSee the build orderThe Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is one long project a student plans, researches and writes up. Askel holds its production log, the EPQ diary, with dated stages and your sign-off.
Founding schools can use it now, free for the rest of 2026-27.

AQA samples are sent online from November 2026.
Students fill in the log in May, from memory, instead of as they go.
With a whole group, it’s hard to see who is stuck until it’s late.
Forms, marks and sample packs all at once. AQA samples move online from November 2026.
Every feature sits under one of the five steps.
Each stage has a date, and the supervisor signs it off.
Students say which AI tools they used, and the supervisor signs it too.
Meetings and any help go into the Record of help as they happen.
Facts worth a conversation, like a long gap or a big paste, with the next step to take.
Every PDF is signed, with a short code anyone can check. Sample packs are ready for the exam board.
The same project at Planning review, in four skins. Only the student sees their skin. Staff always see the standard view.
The production log is the exception: it’s written in Askel. Artefacts, recordings and other files stay where your school keeps them, with a fingerprint in Askel.
Board dates are fixed. Your school’s dates are Askel’s defaults, and you can change them.
AI tools, like ChatGPT, can write or change text for you. JCQ’s rules apply to every board: students say which AI tools they used, and keep their prompts and what the tool gave them. Each board adds its own notes.
Askel has no AI in it, and never sends students’ work to AI companies.
