A Level Design and Technology coursework

Askel keeps a log of making sessions, off-site work and progress for the Design and Technology NEA, with a submission pack for each board. NEA (non-exam assessment) is coursework marked in school, then checked by the exam board.

Where the admin piles up

The making is the hard part to record.

01

Making sessions, under supervision

Who made what, when, and with whom watching.

02

Off-site manufacture

Work done elsewhere has to be checked before and after.

03

Four ways to send work

Each board wants the portfolio and prototype evidence differently.

What Askel records

Built around each board’s rules.

Every feature sits under one of the five steps.

Show

A making session log

Each supervised session, with the date, the room and the hours.

Show

Off-site work, checked before and after

A teacher records what went out and what came back.

Show

Progress photos, if you want them

A fingerprint of each photo, so it shows if one is swapped.

Prove

Partner review with another school

A teacher from another school can check your marks.

Prove

A submission pack for each board

The forms and evidence each board asks for.

What stays where it is

Portfolios, prototypes and photos stay where your school keeps them. Askel keeps links, dates and a fingerprint of each file.

AI rules for Design and Technology

What each board adds.

AI tools, like ChatGPT, can write or change text for you. JCQ’s rules apply to every board: students say which AI tools they used, and keep their prompts and what the tool gave them. Each board adds its own notes.
